PBJ CRM 7.16 — Settings, rebuilt

Settings is now a searchable directory in five categories, the side rail inside Settings is those categories, and the CRM has its own record bin.

September 7, 2026

PBJ CRM 7.15 is out. Settings has been rebuilt into something you can actually find your way around, and the side rail now works the same way inside Settings as it does everywhere else.

Settings is a directory now, not a list

Everything the CRM and your installed add-ons let you change is grouped into five categories — Workspace, Records, Reach, Modules and Site — with a search box across the top and three live summaries beside it: how many sync changes are waiting, how many setup steps are left, and what was changed last and by whom. Each card says in plain words what it does and whether it opens in the CRM or in your website admin.

Add-on settings are no longer hidden behind a Show button. A panel a module declares is placed in the group it belongs to — kinds of work and stages under Records, reminders and email wording under Reach — so there is one place to look rather than two.

The side rail is the categories

Open Settings and the rail down the left is Workspace, Records, Reach, Modules and Site, each with its own icon and the one you are in lit, exactly like Contacts or Deals on their own screens. The breadcrumb at the foot of the page reads Settings › Records › The bin, and every step of it is a link.

A record bin you can reach

Deleted records used to be visible only in your website admin. There is now a bin inside the CRM: what was deleted, who deleted it, how many days it has left, and a button to put it back or to empty the bin for good.

Record pages

On a person or a business, the identity card and the note composer share the top row — the card two thirds, the composer one third, tops level — and the Open work cards in the right rail wrap onto a second line instead of cutting a balance off mid-word.

Update: 7.16, from the gate

Before this went out, PBJ CRM’s full runtime UI gate was run end to end — 250 screens × five roles, 816 light/dark and desktop/phone variants, 7,994 assertions — and it found one thing worth fixing: on a person’s record, choosing Show as client from the More menu left keyboard focus at the top of the page when you closed the preview, instead of on the More button you came from. 7.16 fixes that. Everyone on 7.15 will be offered it.

Upgrading

7.16 makes no database change and needs no action on your part. Sites with a licence key will be offered the update in the usual place; everything you have set stays where it is.
