PBJ CRM 7.84 — safer app sign-out and clearer due dates

PBJ CRM 7.84 makes signing a phone or computer out of the CRM app revoke its PBJ Remote approvals, shows task due dates as “Overdue Oct 6” instead of a raw time, and tidies the default icons.

October 11, 2026

PBJ CRM 7.84 is out — a free update for everyone who owns PBJ CRM 7.x. It makes signing out of the CRM app mean what it says, and makes task due dates in the app easy to read. There is no database change; take a backup before you update, as always.

Signing a device out now really signs it out

When someone taps Sign out in the CRM app, or you remove a device under My settings › Phones signed in, the CRM now tells its modules. With PBJ Remote 0.3.5, that device’s Remote approvals are revoked on the server at the same moment, so a signed-out phone or computer can no longer start a remote session on its own.

  • For developers: the new pbj_crm_app_device_revoked( user, device, reason ) action fires on app sign-out and on device removal.
  • Also new: PBJ_CRM_App_API::device_live() and current_device_uid() let a module check that a person is still signed in to the app on a device.

Due dates you can read at a glance

Task rows in the app now say when a task is due in your site’s time zone: “Overdue Oct 6” for a task with only a date, and “Due Dec 25, 10:30 AM” for one with a time. Before, they could show a raw stamp such as “2026-10-06 23:59:59”.

Icon polish

  • Your theme’s favicon is respected more reliably. A favicon declared as, for example, rel="alternate icon" now counts, so the CRM no longer adds its default beside it.
  • Sharper browser tabs. The default icon is declared so browsers prefer the crisp SVG version.
  • No files written on a page view. With the app switched off, the default home-screen icon is the shipped image; nothing is generated in your uploads folder.
  • A full-size icon on the app sign-in. The default icon now fills its tile instead of sitting at half size.
  • Lighter. The shipped SVG icon is now 1.9 KB.
  • For theme authors: if your theme prints its favicon outside wp_head, the pbj_crm_print_default_favicon filter turns the default off.

Upgrading

Update from Plugins in your WordPress dashboard once your licence key is saved in PBJ CRM’s settings. If you use PBJ Remote, update it to 0.3.5 too so sign-outs revoke Remote approvals. Every change is listed on the PBJ CRM changelog.
