PBJ CRM suite — 6 September 2026: the designer everywhere, and PBJ Templates goes on sale

The PBJ CRM suite — 6 September 2026 — is out: PBJ CRM 7.10, PBJ Helpdesk 7.04, PBJ Invoicing 7.06, PBJ RingCentral 7.01, PBJ Dispatch & Appointments 7.02, PBJ Vault 7.01, and a new product, PBJ Templates 1.13.1.

This is the release that puts the template designer where the work happens. Every email, notice, invoice layout, signature, letter and document the suite sends can now be designed once in PBJ Templates and reached from the screen that uses it — the campaign editor, every Templates settings panel, your own settings — with the plain-text editors kept underneath as the fallback for a site that has not installed it. Around it sit the fixes from a week of field testing: text conversations that become tickets again, one action bar on every work list, a reading pane that plays recordings in the CRM’s own player, and native controls that follow the theme everywhere.

PBJ Templates — one library, one designer, now a product of its own

PBJ Templates is the drag-and-drop template builder for the whole suite. Six kinds of template in one list — marketing emails, notices, invoices & estimates, signatures, portal notices, letters — with the CRM owning the blocks, the merge fields and the photo store, and each module declaring which of its fields belong in which kind. It requires PBJ CRM 7.10.

• The designer opens from the campaign screen. Choose “Designed email (HTML)” on a marketing email and the template designer draws inside the campaign screen, made from the email’s name, subject and anything already written in it. What you design is what the test send and the real send carry.
• Every Templates settings screen leads with the designer — what it owns there, the templates behind it, Open and Make one — and your own settings open your signature in it.
• What somebody owes, in a marketing email. Their latest unpaid invoice, what they still owe, when it is due, a link to pay it — answered for the person, not for a document, and only when Invoicing is installed.
• See the real values before you send. Pick a person or a business and every field says what it will actually say for them.
• Phones edit templates too — no dragging, a block list with up/down, a photo sheet that takes the picture at the job and files it on the customer at the same time.

PBJ CRM 7.10

• Designed email opens the designer instead of the old block-by-block list; a site without PBJ Templates keeps the block editor exactly as it was. Templates moves to a row on Settings and off the Work rail.
• One action bar on every work list: acting on a row no longer opens it — File, Bin, Spam and Add to ticket run and return; Reply opens the composer over the list. Every list is click-to-read; Tasks gains a reading pane, ticks and Select all.
• A text conversation can become a ticket again. Convert+ is drawn on an opened text, never on a record that cannot be addressed, and Close is gone from texts — they are filed.
• The reading pane: one-row header (Back · state · Next ›), recordings in a CRM-themed player that shows the length before you press play.
• Attach and Camera on every note composer; two-column contact and business headers with one “Add work+” button; native date pickers, drop-downs and scrollbars that follow a dark preset; footer Back that returns to the last screen, and “Set as default” for the rail item a tab opens on.

PBJ Helpdesk 7.04

• Tickets open on Open, like Tasks, with Open first and All at its own address on the rail.
• A text or call from a number no record carries yet still becomes a ticket through Convert+ — the number and its display name go on the intake sheet as the requester.

PBJ Invoicing 7.06

• An invoice edited after it was sent says so on the customer’s page and in the PDF, in the same words as the email.
• A designed invoice layout can no longer drop a way to pay: “How to pay” and the payment codes are placed under the totals when the layout does not position them.
• Payment codes in the PDF come from the full-size image, so they scan off paper.

PBJ RingCentral 7.01

• Texts say File, not Close; Add to ticket is back on the record header.
• Texts and calls carry their record id, so Convert+ can address them, and a converted conversation lands in the Tickets pile linked to its ticket.
• Recordings show the call’s length before playback; the details row reads “Call duration”.

PBJ Dispatch & Appointments 7.02 and PBJ Vault 7.01

Both were pushed to pbj.tech earlier this week and are published to customers with this release. Dispatch’s eight visit emails can be designed in PBJ Templates and customer emails carry the assignee’s designed signature. Vault records open in a popup over the person you were working on, and the lock timer now slides on use rather than on any page activity.

Upgrading

Every module requires PBJ CRM 7.10 — update the CRM first, then the modules, from Plugins → Updates on your site. Coming from the last published CRM (7.08), the CRM carries one additive schema step (25 → 27: the campaign columns 7.09 added, plus its second step, verified before the version is stamped); none of the modules changes a table. PBJ Templates is a new install: it appears in the storefront below, and once active every Templates screen in the suite lights up on its own.
