PBJ Form Builder 2.4.0 — a real shop: products with options, coupons, tax, shipping and orders

PBJ Form Builder 2.4.0 turns its products into a full shop: products with options, product and shop pages, a cart with addresses, coupons, tax, shipping zones, orders with refunds, and order emails, with a guided Setup.

October 13, 2026

PBJ Form Builder 2.4.0 is out — a free update for everyone who owns PBJ Form Builder 2.x. Forms stay exactly as they are; Products grow into a full shop. Your saved settings are kept, and new settings start with sensible defaults. Take a backup before you update, as always.

Setup is a hub of switches

Forms and Products are now two separate parts, and Setup gives every part its own card and switch. The parts are Forms, Products and shop, Cart and checkout, each payment service, Coupons, Tax, Shipping, Customer emails, Spam protection and Appearance. Turning one on opens a short guide that asks one question at a time. Switching a part off hides its screens and never deletes anything. The menu is now Setup, Forms, Products, Orders, Coupons, Settings.

Products that work like a real shop

  • Products with options (size, colour and so on), each with its own price, SKU, stock and picture.
  • Sale prices with start and end dates, stock counts with “Only N left”, backorders, categories and tags, a gallery, weight and size, and virtual or downloadable items.
  • Every product gets its own page. Add the [pbj_shop] shortcode to any page for a shop with categories, sorting and paging; Setup can make that page for you.

Cart, coupons, tax and shipping

  • The cart collects billing and shipping addresses, shows shipping choices and tax, and takes coupon codes.
  • Coupons: percentage, fixed cart and fixed product discounts, with expiry dates, usage and spend limits, product and category rules, and free shipping.
  • Tax rates by country and state, and shipping zones with flat rate, free shipping and local pickup.

Orders and order emails

  • Order numbers you can prefix, statuses, order notes, and full or partial refunds with optional restocking. A full PayPal refund can be sent straight to PayPal.
  • Order emails to buyers (received, processing, completed, refunded, and a note from you), each with its own switch, subject line and preview.
  • Products that come with a PBJ License Manager key get their key and download link from the cart too.

Upgrading

Update from Plugins in your WordPress dashboard once your licence key is saved. Your forms and the products already on your pages keep working. Every change is listed on the PBJ Form Builder changelog.
