PBJ Invoicing 7.30 — deposits on estimates, clearer buttons for your customers, and a new editor
PBJ Invoicing 7.30 and PBJ Vault (Archive) 7.02 are out — free updates for everyone who owns the 7.x versions. PBJ Invoicing 7.30 brings together everything since 7.21. Update PBJ CRM to 7.44 or newer first (7.50 is current), and take a database backup before updating Invoicing: it adds two columns (database 8 to 10). Nothing you have saved changes.
Take a deposit on an estimate
- Require a deposit as a percent of the total, a flat amount, or just the line items you tick. The deposit note for your customer is written for you from the figures, and you can change it.
- Your customer sees what is due now and what is due on completion — on their page, on the PDF and in the email.
- Paying the deposit accepts the estimate. It turns into an invoice straight away, with the deposit already applied. Deposits are not refundable, and the documents say so plainly.
Buttons that say what they do
- An estimate with a deposit reads Accept and pay deposit by card or Accept and pay deposit by check, with any other ways to pay the deposit listed below.
- The estimate PDF has one button: Accept and pay deposit, or simply Accept when no deposit is needed — which accepts the estimate in one tap.
- Links in invoice and estimate PDFs are now real, clickable links in every PDF reader.
A new editor
Estimates and invoices open in the CRM’s new editor: the title in the header, your customer’s card with their address and a Bill to you can change, dates and recipients on one screen, and totals that update as you type. New lines start at a quantity of 1.
Fixes
- A deposit set on an estimate you have already sent now saves.
- Pay by card appears whenever a card processor is connected in PBJ CRM.
- An estimate edited from its record stays an estimate.
- Recurring profiles with line items open in the editor again.
- Money shows again on the Events screens.
- PBJ Vault 7.02: Vault entries name their module wherever the CRM lists record types.
