PBJ Suite release: search everywhere, and a simplified phone interface
Five updates went out together today: PBJ CRM 1.26.0 (with 1.25.0 landing the same day), PBJ Helpdesk 2.18.0, PBJ Invoicing 1.17.0, PBJ Dispatch & Appointments 1.5.0 and PBJ Archive 1.4.0. Two ideas run through the lot: the suite’s search now reaches everything it should, and the CRM finally knows how to be small on a phone.
The search first. CRM 1.25.0 puts pill filters under the header search, one for every kind of record — people, businesses, tasks, deals, files, and every module’s records — so you can narrow a search to just the kind of thing you are after. Deals and files join the search for the first time. Invoicing 1.17.0 brings invoices, estimates and recurring billing in, and searching by the customer’s name now really works — on the invoice list and in the header search alike. Dispatch 1.5.0 brings visits and appointments in, so a job can be found by the street, the town, the place name or the customer’s name. Helpdesk 2.18.0 is a small correctness release: ticket search now honours the search’s per-kind limit exactly as documented. And everywhere, results only ever name what you could already open.
One thing stays out of the shared search on purpose: the Vault. PBJ Archive 1.4.0 gains a search of its own on the Vault home screen, across every sub-database by name — but vault searching happens only inside the Vault, never from the header. A locked vault still shows names and types only, and never a protected value.
The other half of the release is CRM 1.26.0: a simplified phone interface. On a phone the portal now opens with three big choices — Find, Create, Desktop. Find gives every kind of record a phone-sized list: people get an A-to-Z rail and sorting, businesses a search-first list, and tickets, invoices and visits a type-to-find screen. Create adds people, businesses, tasks, deals, and notes with photos — photos go through the CRM’s own file store. Desktop is the full portal, and choosing it is remembered on that phone.
If you would rather your phones saw the full portal every time, the whole thing switches off under Settings ▸ The basics ▸ Simplified mobile interface.
