PBJ CRM Suite — 28 August 2026 release

All six PBJ CRM Suite plugins move together today. PBJ CRM 1.63.21, PBJ Helpdesk 2.50.12, PBJ Invoicing 1.38.0, PBJ Dispatch & Appointments 1.29.0, PBJ RingCentral 1.10.0 and PBJ Vault 1.17.0 are available now through the usual update channel.

They ship as one set on purpose. The modules were built against new seams in the hub, so shipping them apart is the only combination that can leave you with a module ahead of the CRM it runs on.

This one came out of using it

Most of what is below was found by running a real business day through the suite — writing invoices, answering tickets, booking visits, replying to texts — and fixing what got in the way. That is a different list from the one you get by planning features, and it is a better one.

Screens that stopped getting in your way

• A save button that refuses now says so where you pressed it. The message used to be written to the top of the form while the button sits in the header — so on a long invoice it landed below the fold and the button simply looked dead.
• An unnamed line item no longer breaks an invoice. A charge with a quantity and a price but no description is a perfectly ordinary thing to write down, and it was taking the whole record screen with it.
• The customer finder opens the question you actually asked. Where a screen has two customer fields, each now names its own question, and only the one being asked about opens itself.
• Searching for people at a business is scoped to that business instead of offering the whole address book.

Changing who something belongs to

Tickets, visits and documents all carry a small Change button beside the customer’s name — the same control, in the same place, on every kind of work. Choosing a business then asks whether somebody there should be named, and “Just <business>” is a real answer rather than a cancel. An invoice can now be addressed to the business itself, which was previously only sayable by leaving the recipient list empty and hoping.

An Inbox that means something

The unified Inbox is now what is waiting on you. Work you have already answered stands in Needs me; a customer’s reply brings it back. A task stays in the Inbox until you tick its first checklist item — which is the moment you started it. Visits are not in the Inbox at all: a visit is not waiting on a reply, it is waiting on a date, so it lives in Needs me and on the calendar.

Conversations

• Photos in a text message appear as photos.
• Your own replies look like your replies — a message sent back through a phone or text bridge used to be drawn in the customer’s bubble, under the customer’s name.
• A text or call can be filed onto a visit, not only a ticket, and links back to it the same way. Filing one writes a single note on the job carrying the conversation.
• Any conversation can be read newest-first, with a quiet toggle that shows which way you are reading.
• “Add to ticket” is a search by number, subject or customer, and it offers visits as well as tickets.

Invoicing

The estimate and invoice editor is rebuilt to a single layout that works at any width: the document down the middle, and totals, delivery, notes and terms beside it — below it on a phone. Tax rate, deposit, reminders, late fees and manual payment methods are settings now, decided once, rather than questions on every document; anything you have already written keeps exactly the values it had. The invoice PDF now carries a Pay online line, so somebody holding the download can reach card checkout — before this it listed the manual methods and nothing else.

Getting it

Updates arrive through WordPress as usual for any site with a licence key. Per-plugin detail is on each changelog: PBJ CRM, Helpdesk, Invoicing, Dispatch, RingCentral.

Every module requires PBJ CRM. Licences are one-time per major version and cover three sites; minor and patch updates like these are free.
